Continuing our months-long exploration into the Handbook of Writing, Literacies, and Education in Digital Cultures , on Tuesday, November 14 at 8 pm EST/5 pm PST we will discuss issues raised in Chapter 5: Digital Divides and Social Inclusion.
The idea of a digital divide has evolved from concerns over simple access to digital devices to conceptions of social inclusion. With the rapid growth of the Internet as a medium for both economic and social transactions, being part of this network has become essential to inclusion and participation.
In this chat, the authors of this chapter, Mark Warschauer and Tamara Tate (both of the University of California – Irvine), will discuss digital divides, social inclusion, and the impact on digital #literacies. We hope you’ll join in the conversation!
